My name is Manabu Ozawa, president of Japan Chemical Industries Co., Ltd. I was appointed to be JACA’s chairperson at both the board of directors and the ordinary general meetings held on May 17, 2023.
The auto industry has entered a time in which a once-in-a-century change is occurring. As an example regarding CASE, which stands for Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric, half of the new cars launched globally in 2040 will be electric vehicles (EVs), according to an industry estimate. This estimate is projected to rise more quickly if battery costs decrease.
In response to this massive shift in the business environment, the members of the Japan Auto Chemical Industry Association (JACA), an organization mainly consisting of automotive chemicals manufacturers, will be increasingly urged to change.
I look forward to helping JACA overcome this difficult situation through the sharing of related information, and by supporting members with our compliance with laws and other activities.
In order achieve this, I will stay focused on the three priorities below.
 1. Compliance with domestic and international laws and regulations
 2. Actions with a view toward the popularization of next-generation automobiles (e.g., information gathering)
 3. Revitalization of the market (e.g., strengthening our cooperation with different organizations, holding workshops, etc.)
Information will be communicated to JACA members through e-mail newsletters, the exchange of information with related government offices, and relevant organizations and its subcommittees’ activities.
I am confident that these efforts will help revitalize the industry and bring prosperity to JACA members.
I respectfully ask for the continued support and guidance of JACA members, relevant government offices, and related organizations.

The Japan Auto Chemical Industry Association

The Japan Auto Chemical Industry Association, whose parent organization is the Japan Automotive Oil Agent Industrial Association , was established in November, 1961, and is Japan’s only organization of affiliated manufacturers and importers of brake fluids, antifreezes, waxes, and other automotive chemical products. To facilitate the continued growth of the industry, the Japan Automotive Oil Agent Industrial Association and the Auto Chemical Industry Association joined together to establish JACA, an organization that also includes outside entities, in May, 1982, with JACA taking over the businesses of the existing industrial associations.

There are close bonds and interactions among the members of JACA. The association comprehensively advances business related to supporting and promoting the automotive chemical goods industry, and helps strengthen the structure of the auto chemical industry. At the same time, JACA’s goal is to contribute to the sound growth of the chemical goods industry for Japan.
