Clauses related to the handling of personal information
The Japan Auto Chemical Industry Association (JACA) created a list of the contact information of people who attended any of JACA’s lectures, briefing sessions, etc., or those who purchased related documents, etc. The list was used for a range of lectures and the introduction of documents.
In light of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information enforced on April 1, 2005, no list which JACA has not disclosed its purpose or received the consent of the people concerned can be used, in principle, but we will continue to use this list in a manner described below in consideration of the continuity of JACA’s liaison operations and services.
JACA has provided the above information using postal services, fax machines, e-mail and other methods. If you wish to delete your name from this list of personal information, please contact us using the fax number or email address shown below. If you do not contact us, it will be deemed that you have consented to your inclusion on this list.
Clauses related to JACA’s handling of personal information
It is deemed that anyone that has responded to event information, application documents, purchase procedures or a questionnaire created by JACA (hereinafter collectively “Applicants”) has consented to the following clauses unless otherwise requested. These clauses may also apply to non-member companies when necessary.
- Article 1 (Collection, possession, use, etc. of personal information)
- 1. Applicants who applied for briefings, lecture, etc., organized by JACA, or requested special documents, information, etc., in response to an inquiry (hereinafter collectively “Service Offerings”) consent to JACA’s collection and use of the information defined in a) to d) below (hereinafter collectively the “Information”) for the provision of JACA’s services after the implementation of protective measures.
- a) Information such as the name, address, e-mail address, phone number, fax number and affiliation of Applicants written by Applicants, etc. on application forms or other documents, etc. submitted by Applicants, etc.
- b) Information that JACA obtained via an inquiry over the telephone or a similar occasion
- c) Information publicly available on media such as telephone directories, official gazettes and newspapers and the websites of the companies that Applicants work for
- d) Information provided after a member company approves the publication of the information
- 2. Applicants consent to JACA’s use of the information defined in a) to d) above for any of the following purposes.
- (1) Notices regarding JACA’s Service Offerings and the sending of documents and publications
- (2) Collecting opinions and information and conducting research on JACA’s operations, etc.
- Article 2 (Providing the Information third parties and the third parties’ use of it)
- If JACA is to perform the Service Offerings in Article 1 in partnership with a third party, Applicants consent to the provision of the minimum amount of the Information necessary for the Service Offering to only the specific third party.
- Article 3 (Requesting the discontinuation of the use of the Information)
- Applicants may request that JACA discontinue its use of the Information even if JACA is using the Information within the scope of the consent specified in Paragraph 2, Article 1.
- Article 4 (Disclosure, correction or deletion of personal information)
- 1. Applicants may request that JACA disclose the Applicant’s personal information to the Applicant in accordance with the laws concerning the protection of personal information.
- 2. If the recorded information is found to be incorrect or erroneous as a result of a request for the information’s disclosure, Applicants, etc. may request the information be corrected or deleted.
- Article 5 (Information manager)
- JACA’s information manager acts as the managing director for the proper management of information and compliance with related laws.
- Article 6 (Personal information concerning projects led by JACA)
- JACA applies Articles 1 to 5 regarding personal information connected to the Legal Affairs Study Group led by a member company enrolled in the corporate lawyer system.
